I'm 3 days into the primary for my 2nd batch. fermentation has stopped except for a bubble in 5 min or so. I was happy the gravity went from 1.048 to 1.016. I tasted it and it had a tangy
cidery taste, besides being OK. My first batch didn't have any taste so i hve little to compare to.
I'm wondering if that tangy taste is an indication of infection?

It seems awfully early to taste your beer. Move it to secondary and let it mellow.
Ah the impatience of youth!
Heed the above advice before drawing any conclusions. 3 days is just not long enough. Probably just green beer.

Green ber tastes bad and scares every new brewer. ust waitm and when you think you've waited enough, wait another week.

Like my experience with using extra light DME. Don't even SMELL what comes out of primary! (rotten peas/corn funk)
Patience is indeed a virtue!

I'll second that! It's amazing what a little time will do for beer! Al has been complaining that he doesn't like Wit because of the coriander; two weeks later it's all orange peel and he's in love with the Wit.
