Beer News
There’s loads of activity on the beer front this week. Celebration Ale
is in good supply at the moment, but its going fast. Good news for
Heavy Seas – Their Loose Cannon was very popular last week and we sold
out in just two days! Bad news – The distributor is out of stock until
next week. Good news – Victory Hop Wallop is coming! Bad news – Stone
Double Bastard and the big 3-liter ceramic swing-top bottles did not
arrive as expected. It might be next week when they arrive, or it could
be another month. Sorry!
Here are the seasonal beers that did arrive this week:
Snow Goose…$7.49/6pk
Great Deal! Delirium Tremens Noel…$4.99/750ml special ($4 off)
Sam Adams Winter Lager…$7.49/6pk
Sam Adams Winter Classics…$12.99/12pk special
Saranac Twelve Beers…$11.99/12pk
These are due in Friday:
Victory Hop Wallop…$10.99/6pk
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout…$7.99/6pk
Otter Creek Alpine Ale…$5.99/6pk special
River Horse Belgian Frostbite…$6.99
Wychwood Bah Humbug…$3.99/500ml
Wychwood Hobgoblin Gift Sets…$11.99
Allagash Grand Cru…$7.99/4pk 355ml bottles
Allagash Grand Cru…$5.99/750ml

I wanna try this stuff Ive heard good things about it. Whats funny is that the original name was Three Sheets To The Wind but the ATTTB said no way for some reason...

does anyone know if Norm's carry's 1/6ths? I need to replace my current keg and wanted to check out a place with a bit more variety than total Beverage.
not sure what I'm looking for either which doesn't help, kinda leaning towards one I tried from Magic Hat, Saint gootz
any place in the VA area with a nice selection of any size kegs of micros would be fine

Norm's does carry 1/6s but by special order in advance -- no on hand inventory. Call Norm. He's a good gut and will try to get you what you want.

I was in this afternoon. Picked up some of the DT Noel, Winter Storm, and Snow Goose. So now I've got samples of Snow Goose from this year and the last two... will probably do a vertical tasting if I can manage to drink three of them in the same night!
Chaz, I saw someone there who looked a lot like your avatar pic.... but just as I was about to say hello he picked up a suitcase of Bud... so was pretty sure it wasn't you!

This is my favorite time of the year, the winter seasonals hit the shelves!
I stopped by the Spirit Shoppe in Frederick and spent way too much and still did not get all I wanted. Here is what I brought home:
case of Anchor Christmas Ale 2005
case of SN Celebration Ale
Magic Hat's winter seasonal 12 pack
sixer of Victory Hop Wollop
2 - 22oz Victory V series Saison Ale
2 - 22oz Victory V12, 10/2005 batch
Unibroue Tres Pistoles and La Fin Du Monde, 4pk of each
Ommengang
HeavyWeight Saison (Golden)
3F's Alpha Klaus
Sam Smith Winter Welcome
some left behind were a few DFH, Troegs and Clipper City brews.
I'll get those next week!

Does the Spirit Shoppe have a URL? That's not so far from me that I wouldn't conmsider a drive up.

I don't believe they have their own website, but here's the location:
Ye Ole Spirits Shoppe 1005 W. 7th St. Frederick,MD 301-662-4803
They are right off the highway. I was impressed with their selection, and you can build your own six packs for 10% off the single price.

I was not there this weekend. I was on another little brew tour up in PA. Started Friday evening at Thoroughbreds (which is getting much better with the addition of Kevin's beers.) His cask IPA was very good. Next went to Appalachian brewing in Harrisburg. Tried to get tinto Troesg on Saturday Morning but they were not open yet. Vistied Weyerbacher, Ship Inn, Sly Fox - Royersford and Destiny Brewing finally ending back at Thoroughbreds last night. I'll post more later on the pubs and reviews.

Yeah, I was sure it wasn't you as soon as I saw him reach for the Budweiser (his only purchase - sort of like going to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and asking if they can get you a burger from McDonald's) .
I'm hoping to get to Leesburg next Friday and will have to plan a stop at T'breds. I need to get to Troegs as well, I always have some Troegenator on hand here.

Troegs is one of my favorite breweries. All of their beer is good.
And I think you'll like the Thoroughbreds beers that Kevin is making. I'm not trying to imply anything but, There is a definite improvement in the beer department as of late.
