To brew a cornie of homebrew? Assuming I had all the stuff to do it (equipment), what would it cost me to brew a standard brew?

Just curious.

For a pretty basic recipe using dry ale yeast I think you could do it for around $20-$25.

Assuming a 75% efficiency and $1 per lb for standard Domestic grain and $2.00 per lb of extract and $2.50 per 2oz of hops.

A standard APA with an OG of 1.055 (5.5% ABV) and 55 IBU would cost:

All Grain: $11 for grain, $5 for hops, $6.50 for liquid yeast or $1 for dry. Total: $22.50 (liquid) / $17.00 (dry).

Extract w/ grains: $16 for bulk liquid extract, $7.50 for hops (assuming partial boil) $0.60 for a muslin grain bag, and 6.50 for liquid, $1 for dry. Total: $30.60 (liquid) / $25.10 (dry).
