With much sadness I'm reporting that Sean Bolan's will be pouring its last beers this Saturday. Short story, an offer not to be refused. Will open later in the week as Clayton's Tavern. More wine, less beer.

Maybe you lucky ones can stumble up Light St. after the Cask event.

Baltimore has taken a serious hit lately to the local good beer scene. And now this. It will be some time before we see another of its ilk I fear.

So they will actually be closing their doors at last call Saturday night? What are the chances there will be some rare stuff being pulled out before the final bell tolls? Or any crazy GOING OUT OF BUSINESS opportunities for beer lovers?

A while back they had an auction for Katrina, don't know if that had anything to do with it. Here's the official notice:

Stop by this week as our countdown to closing begins. Join us for our Irish Wake this Saturday, October 22nd from noon until closing . . . our last day of business. We'll be emptying out our liquor cabinets all day so you can enjoy some great specials as well as $3 Guinness! The week of October 24th the pub will be re-opening under new ownership as Clayton's Tavern.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20TH IS FINAL FIRKIN THURSDAY
This Thursday we will be serving our final firkin. A very special brew has been made in memory of our dear friend Ron Kodlick who passed away one year ago. A special American-style Pale Ale made Claypipe Brewery, especially they way Ron would have liked it. Don't miss our last Firkin Thursday!

Today this seems like a good idea. We'll see Saturday after the fest. ;)
