Has anyone tried this? I used it in a batch of Amber. I added the tablet in the last 15 minutes of the boil - it looked like an Alka-seltzer! Fizzing around on the top of the boil.
When I racked it to the secondary, the beer was as clear as a bell! Man, that stuff worked GREAT! Well worth the quarter spent on haze elimination.
Happy brewing,
Dale

i might be wrong but i think whirlfloc tabs are just the tablet form of irish moss. I've only used them twice, once in an oatmeal stout (not sure how much of a difference ill notice) and in a barley wine i brewed yesterday. and by the way i usually add them at the start of the boil, is this wrong?

irish moss goes in 1/2 half or at end of the boil.... that much i do know.

Whirlfloc is a form of Irish Moss and when used correctly is a great kettle fining. It comes in both tablet and powdered forms and should be added twenty minutes prior to knockout.
