I’ll be passing through DC in a couple of weeks.
What’s the best place in the area, including suburbs, to get a wide variety of Dogfish Head on tap?
Thanks,

Probably at their new ale house in Gaithursburg: http://www.realbeer.com/discussions/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8203

So I finally went to this place this weekend. Pretty nice digs. Sure is easy to spend a whole lot on beer there though. They have the tap selection and then the higher end stuff they just serve in bottles which adds up fast. Had a couple 60's, a 90 (which I thought was MUCH better on tap then in any bottle Ive ever gotten), then split a Immort Ale (my...) and a World Wide Stout both of which they serve bottle only (apparently up until recently they actually had a keg of this stuff 18+% and all!).
Other cool stuff they had available ("Vintage" beer) was a 2 year old Pangea, a 2 year old Olde School Barley Wine (on tap! But they wouldnt let me have even a taste without buying the greedy bastards), a 2 year old Festina Lente, the 2 year old Immort and a year old 120. Then of course they had the Midas Touch the Raison D'Etre and the rest of the usual stuff.
Worth checking out. Good food too. Our waitress told us they had had a recent beer event that involved $25 for essentially what amounted to all the Dogfish Head you could drink... After we picked our jaw up off the table we asked how we could get on an announcement list for this kind of thing but she said it wasnt even announced. It went out word of mouth and sold out same day! I asked when the next one was and she said after checking with her manager that they would be having another event In January and should have ones every few months after that. So lets tag team that web page between all of us here locally because apparently they should post something online but dont expect it to last long when they do.

I have to say I had the chikory was better bottled.....i know it is silly...usually it is the other way around i know but there was something about it on tap.....i thought it was more plan....
now the world wide stout was NICE!!!!
I would totally go back there....look forward to the tasting they have...coming up!!! count me in....

So I know there are some Northern Virginians here.....
I've been wanting to get my hands on some 120 minute IPA. Any suggestions on where I could pick some up, preferably near the Chantilly area.
Grazie.

You could try Total Wines in Chantilly or Norm's in Vienna. I'd call both first.
Both Derekt2 and I are from the greater Chantilly area.

Tried Total Wines, they only had the 60 min. I'll try Norm's though, thanks.

Just picked up some 90 min IPA from Total Wines. Never tried it before, so I'm definitely excited.
No 120 min, but they said it could be special ordered.

I went there this past weekend. It's on Clopper Road off I-270. It was another former Gaithersburg restaurant that was converted to a Dogfish Head pub. It has DFH beers on tap, wine cellared vintages, and booze. The beers tasted off tap were great - 90 min. IPA, De tra, and an 18% Forte - all yummy.
The unfortunate part was NO off premise sales, like the real McCoy in Rehoboth! Due to some type of tax issue imposed by Montgomery County we were told.
Anyways it was a worth while stop.
Enjoy!

Montgomery County has some really weird laws..
I was hoping that they'd do that too
