I'm heading from DC to Kent Ohio this weekend, and am trying to find a couple of good breweries to stop at and have lunch, I'm thinking Pittsburg will be pretty good time for lunch.
Thanks everyone

Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh is very good.

It is almost directly across the street from the old Pittsburgh Brewing plant.
Check out Pubcrawler.com too.
A second for Church Brewworks. A really fantastic place to stop for lunch. By far the most architecturally interesting brewpub I've ever been to, and good food to boot. Start off with a basket of housemade chips. Definitely try the Marzen if they have it on tap (which they should at this time of year).

My 2 cents worth: I also like Church Brew Works (gotta love the brewing equipment on the altar!), but I like Penn Brewing a little better. Most authentic German-style brewpub I've been to in the U.S., with terrific German beer and food. It's just North of downtown, uphill from the old Heinz factory.

I'd agree with Hops99, Penn is very good as well. Terrific liverwurst and onion sandwiches.

I agree with Hops, too AFA Beer. Penn is a cool old building, but Church BW is a must see for the setup.
One that doesn't get mentioned much that is in the outskirts of Pitt in Greensburg is Red Star. Another cool old building -- a train station -- with very good lunch, solid beers and a pleasant staff.

In Pittsburgh, I highly recommend The Sharp Edge Beer Emporium. It's a great draft beer bar, with a large and changing selection that they serve in varied and proper glassware.

Between Penn and Churchworks I prefer Penn because it's a German-style brewery and I tend to prefer lagers. Sit outside if the weather permits and gaze at the neat-looking "57" sign on the old Heinz factory across the street.

Although not breweries, there are two places to eat that I feel I should at least point out. The first is Primanti Brothers, a sandwhich place which is the Mecca for many Pittsburghers who have left the city and come back on occasion. Huge sandwichs with fry's and coleslaw on them. Lots of locations, check out the website:
http://www.primantibros.com/
The second place is further up north, in Sharon PA, although they may have one in the Kent State area of Ohio as well. It is called Quakers Steak and Lube, probally some of the best wings in the country (I know I am going to be argued with about that), and depending on the location, a fair beer selection as well. The one I was most recently at in Cleveland had several Great Lakes Brewing products on tap. The website for that is:

Finally, if you want to go to a bar in Pittsburgh that has a great selection, I would suggest Smokin' Joes. It is down on the South Side, which can be a little crowded. In fact come to think of it, Friday night will probally be crazy due to the colleges.
Enjoy the trip!

Well I'm back from Ohio, and with the nasty weather all weekend the highlight was Church Brewery, had a bunch of great beers there, my favorite was their English Pale Ale, very lightly hopped. My wife also enjoyed that one too, shes not to big on heavily hopped beers. They had a barely wine that was really good as well. the coolest thing though was their location, really nice to see an old church like that being reused as something interesting.
Thanks again for all the suggestions, didn't have time to stop at more places but will just have to make the trip again.
Cheers
