I just purchased a used chest freezer that I plan on putter a collar on for the taps to come thru. However, the hinges on the lid are not the normal hinges on most chest freezer that attach to the back of the lid and body. They are integrated into the inside back of the freezer, so make a full collar might be difficult. Currently, I think I might have to do an angled collar, where the front is a full piece of wood, but the two sides are cut at angles, so the lid will essentially sit on the collar slightly open, though the collar (with some sealant of some type) should be able to provide a good enough seal.
What do people think of this plan... any tips, insights, concerns. I don't have the best tools, what would be the best method to cut the angle piece (best tool I own would be a reciprocating saw).
