Going tomorrow and need some recommendations on where to get good beer. Will be at the Food and Wine festival at epcot, but don't know what, if anything, I'll get to taste there.

You can never go wrong at the German stop. I went to this fest two years ago and it was great. Lots of stops and great wine and Ale. O yea, there was some good Ale in the British side of the park.

Search for Orlando or Disney. We've covered it extensively before.

IMO, the beer in the England section of EPCOT is just the standard unimpressive line up....Bass, Guinness, Strongbow, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary for most American bars.

The German side is better and drinking a couple of Krugs is a great way to relax after chasing your kids "all over the world" all day long. The buffet in the beer hall was very good too.

The Canadian beers are good but ir seems like they don't bring those out until dark. I had the Maudite last time I was there.

No beer served in the Magic Kingdom, fyi

Anyone see the Rosanne where the family went to Disneyworld? When Dan (John Goodman) was informed that MK was dry, ran screaming to Epcot.

What about good beer places in the Orlando area in general? Im gonna be there in November for work. I know about the Florida Tap Room and the Big River Grill at Disney but thats about it.

I made it back in one piece! Hard work, but a good trip.
Epcot was indeed the place for beer. The Food and Wine festival was going on, with numerous stands of beers and wines from different nations supplementing the big full-time pavillions. A Sam Adams stand was placed square in front of the US pavillion, for instance.
Agreed, though, that the beers by and large were the major brewers easily available pretty much everywhere. Still, I'm a sucker for anywhere I can buy a big mug of good beer and walk around with it. And yes, the beers were very welcome after managing the heat, rain and crowds.
More variations among the wines available (or at least I don't know them as well).
And the ride 'Soarin' is amazing...

Like much of the rest of that area and any theme park, there is not really any good beer or food in Disney. I was there with some older folks and they couldn't even find a drink that was caffeine free and sugar free other than water. Save your money for somewhere with good beer if that is what you're really into.

I live only a few minutes from Disney World. Probably the best place a beer lover could go would be the Big River Grill at the Boardwalk Resort. It's a great little brew pub and the bartenders there are very friendly (especially if your one of the 1% of the people who come in who really knows about beer). The Food and Wine festival at Epcot is always a hit with beer drinkers as well. Unfortunately today is the last day until next year. One fun thing the locals like to do at Epcot is gather a few friends and "Drink around the world", where you stop for a drink at each of the 11 countries at Epcot and get a beer. I always got screwed at Norway where the beer came in two sizes, Viking (32 oz) or Lady Viking (16 oz). Naturally you don't want to be with the guys and order a "Lady Viking"...

Just came back from Orlando a few days ago. Spent $20 on a cab to go to the Florida Tap Room and was very much disapointed. They have a few beers brewed by Shipyard none of which impressed me at all. The next day I went to The Cricketers Pub (http://www.cricketersarmspub.com/) however (which happened to be just across the street from my hotel...) and enjoyed it very much. Four cask ales and a nice Red Hook IPA on tap among other things. Spent way too much time there though... oy...
