I've got company coming to the beach place this weekend so I'll not be able to make this one. Are you going? I do have plans to attend the New England Beer Fest at the end of October in Boston though. And if I can work it right, the Maine brewers fest the following weekend in Portland.

We'll be heading up for the Saturday session. I'd prefer to do it Sunday as Saturday is more of a drunk fest but I'm happy to be going. Looking forward to sampling some Hurricane Kitty from Keegan Brewery (http://www.keeganales.com/). I've heard good things about this brew.

It's a good brew. I've stopped in the brewery tasting room. Good people, good beers.
Also off that Thruway exit (19) is the Skytop Steakhouse and Brewery. It's owned by the people from Hyde Park Brewing Co. I stopped there Sunday during brunch. Cool place. I'd recommend a stop.

I've been to Keegans too. I like the Hurricane Kitty. Brought some home from my visit.

Wow.....I'd suggest checking out Keegan's web site for the party there on October 1st. An amazing group of musicians will be there.
I've used his yeast for Mother's Milk in a Scottish Ale, turned out great.

I left a pair of my reading glasses in the tasting room last time I was there. But I was due for an eye exam and new perscription anyway. This time I got three pairs. One for home, one for the beach place and one for my office / briefcase.

Thanks for the welcome!
I'm somewhat of a newbie to all of this but I do have more than a dozen batches under my belt. First attempt at kegging tomorrow.
Another possibility if you're heading up to Hunter this weekend is the Saugerties Garlic Festival. Not much beer there but a great place to get some awesome garlic on your way up to Hunter.
I always make sure to stock up on garlic for an entire year while I'm there.

Well, that was a lot of fun. Less breweries than in the past but a good range to sample from. Standouts, for me, were Hyde Park Brewery's (http://www.hydeparkbrewing.com/) heffewiezen, Keegan's Hurricane Kitty, and Ramapo Mountain brewery's Suffern Station Porter.
