Hey everyone,

I've been bottling for 2 years now, and am starting to see all these great opportunities to use a keg with. So I am in the market for equipment.

I've been looking into a 2.5 gallon keg, since my batches are usually this size. Since I am just getting into it, I am not well versed at the other items I'll need. Curious if anyone cares to contribute a list of the basic necessities (so that I can start pricing and compiling an order).

Thanks :D

Here's the short list to get you started.

5 lb CO2 tank
Dual Guage Regulator
Cornies - Note that 2 1/2 gal cornies are impossible to find used and very expensive new compared to used 5 gal cornies (at least 3x the price)
quick connects (ball or pin lock to match your kegs) to connect the gas and beer lines to the keg
a new set of O-Rings per corny (if you get new or fully reconditioned you won't need these)
a cobra-head (picnic faucet)
a gas line to connect the CO2 tank to the to the keg

Like BrewDog mentioned, the smaller kegs are hard to find. As long as you have room for the 5 gal corny in your fridge, it's okay to keg smaller batches in larger kegs. I brew 23 liter batches. 19 liters goes in one keg, and the left overs go in another keg. I use up the left overs quickly, or have even mixed the left overs from different brews in the same keg.
