Just got VIP tickets for the Great Lakes BrewFest. Woo Hoo! And it's not just a smaller version of the Great Taste, this one's nation wide. Among the 50+ brewers will be Rogue, Dogfish, Anchor, Flying Dog, Big Sky, Allagash and others. And there's the homebrew competition, which I hear Steve will be judging with Bruno along side him taking lessons. I'll be entering my Slhoppy Pale Ale and Horse Brass Bitter.
psst, hey steve, I'll take you out to Firkin if I win.;)

So who else is going? I'd like to meet some other members while we're there. I'll be the drunk guy at the Rogue booth with the Rogue shirt and camouflage hat on, and I may or may not have a beard, it comes and goes. Or, as Steve and Bruno know, you might find me hula hooping at the Bell's island party. If you're still not sure if you want to go or not just go to www.greatlakesbrewfest.com and you'll be convinced. I look forward to having a good time with everyone there.

I plan on going but haven't bought my tickets yet. I need to sort out how I am getting home after first.

Heh - haven't found out just what I'm judging yet.

Brewcrew - there are links to some hotels at the Fest's site I believe, Bruno stayed up there last year (after brat patties and more beer at the Yard Arm).

Yeah, I think Angela and I are going to get a hotel room and go out for dinner and drinks after the fest. Bruno and Steve, are you staying in Racine or are you gonna go home afterwards?

I'll be there for sure .

Steve, I looked at the brewer's list and saw Harborside from Chicago, am I out of the loop ? Never heard of them along with 3 Dachshunds from Milwaukee.

I just read an article about Harborside in the Tribune a week or 2 ago. It was started by a guy who decided to follow his dream of starting his own beer company. It's a one man operation that only produces one style of beer at the moment, a lager. From my understanding 3 Dachshunds is sold only at Landmark Inn in Milwaukee. I believe they sell it as their own brew. I think some homebrew guy came up with the recipes and it is contract brewed by Gray's in Janesville. They have a website but couldn't find it with a quick look.

Thx Il Hophead , Already in the archives and you gotta pay to read.

brewcrew76, if it's brewed by Gray's it's gotta have a fighting chance. Never had a bad Gray's yet.
