So I went last night to return my (overpriced) sixtels of DFH. They told me that since I had the kegs longer than 7 days they've chaged my card the deposit amount and they said "the kegs are now yours". 1. They didn't tell me about their 7 day rule when I bought them (and it's a stupid rule; hey we're insisting your drink quantity fast!), 2. the kegs aren't mine, they're not even theirs they belong to the brewery or in this case Microstar. 3. for good or ill the amount of deposit charged doesn't begin to cover the actual cost of the kegs.
This all comes on the heels of the bad experience when I picked these up in the first place. I went to get a 1/2bbl of Fordham which they told me was in stock, but I get there and they did't have it so I feel a bit bait & switched on.
I've contacted Microstar and explained the situation and will report back what they say. I told them I want to get their kegs back to them but also would like my deposit back. I realize most of this isnt' their problem, but I've got the kegs, which do me no good, and Dixie has my money, which is doing them plenty of good.
I hope I can get my cash back ,but failing that I'd like to give Dixie my deposit's worth of bad publicity.
