Hi!

My mum is visiting the emerald island soon, so i asked her for a couple of bottles on her way back.I was thinking of making a list with several names with priority, so she could bring home the top 4 or 5 she could find from the list. i was hoping someone could help me giving her the adress of a nice bottleshop (if there is anyone in Dublin) and make some recomendations on which ones to pick and that could be available there. ( i was thinking 2 irish stouts like Murphys and Guiness Foreign plus 2 or 3 english ales). I have serached in "places" but i have found brewpubs only =/

Any help will be greatly apreciated!!

I'm not resident in Dublin so I can't recommend any off licenses, but you might try to have yer mum pick up (the first six will be hard to find I'll wager, but worth it):

Red Biddy (Biddy Early Brewing Co)
Black Biddy (Biddy Early Brewing Co)
Blonde Biddy (Biddy Early Brewing Co)
O'Hara's Celtic Stout (Carlow Brewing Co.)
Curim Celtic Gold (Carlow Brewing Co.)
Moling's Traditional Red (Carlow Brewing Co.)
Beamish Stout (Beamish & Crawford)

BTW you can't get Guinness in Argentina? Pesonally I don't rate Murphy's of the big three stout producers, but that's just me.

Hi!

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Do u know of any location where I can find those beers together??

I can get Guinness in Argentina, but i wanted to get some foreign export that i can´t get here.

Cheers,
Nicolas

Fukiyo,

Guildofevil would, I guess, be our resident Dublin off-licence expert.

As for the beers Meridian listed, SuperQuinn (a supermarket chain) used to supply the Biddy Early ones. Not sure if they still do. All the Carlow Brewing ones are becoming more readily available.
You'll pick up Guinness anywhere (literally) and a lot of supermarkets etc. carry the Foreign Extra.

Any decent off-licence, like Redmonds (http://www.redmonds.ie) , for example, should carry everything.

But, as I said, Guild should be able to make better recommendations

The best Bottle shops are all outside of the centre of the city and as such might be a little difficult for a visitor to find. The good news is that you can get the Irish beers on your list in one of the supermarkets in the centre of the city.

Dunnes on North Earl Street or Tesco, in the Jervis Centre (Jervis Street), have Guinness Foreign Extra as well as the Carlow Brewing Co. Stuff MeridianFC mentioned.

English Ales are not very popular in Ireland and as such can be hard to get. If you really want to send your mother looking for English ale, I can direct you to some very good shops but there is a distinct possibility that she will get lost.

Redmonds looks pretty suitable for what i need, at least i can get Foreign, Murphys and maybe Old Peckulier, Aventinus and some other english ale as well. I only wish it is located downtown.

Guild, if you have any other bottleshop which has a link or an e mail it would be great.

Thanx!

Redmonds is probably the best bottle shop in the city and Ranelagh isn't far out of the city centre.

If she can't find it, she should ask for directions to "The Triangle" in Ranelagh (a junction), as Redmonds is only a few yards away from it.

That´s what I got:

La Trappe Trippel
Schneider Aventinus
Chimay 5 Cents (White)
Guiness Foreign Extra Stout

Also I got:
Guinnes pub can
Guinnes extra stout can
A fine Guinnes Pint glass
A beatifull Ayinger Hefe Glass (i already had one, but they are beatifull!!!)

Btw she finally got her way to O´Neills off licence not Redmonds, so if anyone goes pass O´Neills they may get something anyway.

Thanks everyone for helping.

I love my mum!!!
