If you make it to So. Cal. try a couple of great micro-brewery's! Redondo Beach Brewing Co. in Redondo Beach, and SLO Brew in San Louis Obibsbo... Good brew!!!

Quite a little distance between those 2 there, eh. Redondo was better back in the day. Its sister breweries Manhattan Beach and Huntington Beach were good also. Now......... their beers are a bit on the mellow side. SLO has always been cool.

;) There used to be a Russian Micro-Brewery in Hollywood years ago, but I can't remember the name. Anybody ever been there? Is it still around?

It was Gorky's. I believe it was a small chain, closed in early-mid 90's.

:) Usually I go and visit family and friends in the L.A. area first, then I go visit my In-Law's in Garderville Nevada. I stop in Mojave at Indian Wells Brewing Company and pick up a case of their Mojave Red Ale. It's ok, nothing spectacular, but my Father In-Law loves it, but then anything is better than the ass on tap he reguarly consumes, "Coor's Light"...

I don't know if Gorky's could be called a "chain"but there were 2. The one on Cahuenga, in Hollywood and the on off of 1st street downtown. They were kinda fun except the one downtown got kinda crazy at night. Sorry to hear Ninja didn't like SLO. I thought it was a cool place. Heck if you guys are throwing out names...Pizza Port is great. Alesmith is only a brewery, like Stone will not be. Stone is gonna be incredible when they open the new place. Oh yeah, just to get my dig in, I've already stated my opinion of Lagunitas, speaking of underwhelming............:p

Second on the Pizza Port! Loved their Doheny IIPA, and their habit of having $2 or $3 pint nights is great! Wish they were closer to me... need some East Coast ports!

I'm actually glad there not toooo close to me. Or was that my wife that said that?? I'm sure their IIPA is like Frank's. As for the east coast porters.........?

He had about 35 on tap, one of which ( Scaldis ) was out when I got there. Thanks so much for putting up the web site. I now have it saved so I can find out what's going on. The Sierra Nevada event will be in my sights.
