View Full Version : shipping homebrew--I found a container

If anyone else has, like me, refrained from shipping homebrew to family and friends because of the PITA factor of packing it safely (I've cut up polystyrene insulation to make containers for AHA contest and said, never again)-----well, I've found a nice solution that doesn't involve joining a Beer-of-the-month club and using their packaging (Though that's not the worst idea in the world either).

For guys who ain't good with the ol' Xacto knife, like me, this works at a reasonable price. Now the shippee needs to ship the empty container back to me, for this to work.......

You da man! That is great. I've long since shipped out my last beer club box. I like this idea. I think the best way to trade with these is for one guy to send his beer and get the return beer sent back in the same box. Cool deal.

If anyone in the general DC area (Northern VA) needs them, I can usually get a bunch for free.
My inlaws are fortunate to have a shipping service that sends them cases of wine from Napa whenever they go out there (usually 4 to 6 months every year - really big into wine).
I've used them many times to transport my beer when taking it to friends and family. Usually we just toss them out when we unpack the wine.
They should have another round coming in sometime in the fall, so I'll see if they'll be a bunch lying around.

I'll certainly take some. I'll trade some beers or pay you for them.

I'll always take beer, but no need to spend cash, I'll be getting huge brownie points from the inlaws when I can get them out of their house.
I'll see if they have any around now. If not, I'll post to this thread in a few months when they get back from their next trip.
