Chesapeake branch, this Thursday (8/11) 7pm at Brewer's Art. This will be the first one I've attended. I get the feeling there's mostly imbibing and not a lot of Roberts Rules of Order going on. I am hoping to chat with the some of the organizers of the upcoming cask fest.
Anyone else from DC interested? I'll be Marc-ing it up and Amtrak-ing it back.

We need to have a head count for ordering crabs. The club will provide crabs, burgers, dogs, rolls, soda and condiments. Feel free to bring a side dish or dessert
Also, tickets will be go on sale within the next two weeks for the 2nd Annual Chesapeake Real Ale Festival to be held at the Camden Yards Wharf Rat on October 22nd from 1 - 6pm.
Look for e-mails on this and pass the word. Last year's event was a major success and this year will be even better.
Lastly, lets all thank the whole Brewers Art staff for an incredible Saison and service above and beyond. We had a great turnout of 68 people and the Brewers Art folks were extremely happy with our showing.
Cheers,
Dominic

Addition to previous post:
SPBW Members,
I wanted to also let everyone know that Bill & Pat will have the pool open, so swimming will encouraged.
Also, on Saturday, September 3rd some of us are going to The Old Stein Inn located near the end of route 214 in Edgewater, Md. just south of Annapolis. They have 10 top quality German taps, plus a good selection of German bottled beer, wine, liqueurs and a fantastic German food menu and other gourmet offerings. They open at 4pm and Lisa and I will arrive a little after that. We will be in the large beer garden in the back. A very authentic German band will start around 6pm. We are considering them as a meeting place next year, so join us if you'd like.
Directions: take 97 south towards Annapolis and get off on the Aris T. Allen exit 22 (MD-665) and take that to south on the Solomons Island Rd. exit.(MD 2 -S) Stay on that for about 3.6 miles until route 214/Central Ave. and make a left. Stay on 214 for about 3.9 miles. The Old Stein will be on the right
Hope to see you at the Crab Feast and at next week if you can make it. BTW, I'm letting everyone know that's sent an RSVP that you can just bring the admission fee with you.
Cheers,
Dominic

I've never heard of the Old Stein Inn. Has anyone been there?

I'm curious enough I might have to take a trip out there sometime.

I have read about it before. And looked at their site. I think it has been mentioned on DC beer before. Looks like a fun place.
