Hey, does anyone know where I can find cheap pint glasses? It seems like I've seen something around about it, but I just can't seem to place it? :p

At $5 a glass, I'd avoid halfpintshop dot com if I were you...

...hasn't the administrator been able to do anything about that yet, anyway? It's downright insulting, really.

If you're not overly picky, you can pick up pint glasses at your local homebrew shop at bargain prices sometimes. I got a couple of sets of festival glasses from St. Pat's for (I think) $1 each. It might have been a $1.75, but I think it was $1 each. In either case (pun), far cheaper than $5 each. And they had local logos on them, KGSR radio, Celis Brewery (now defunct), and, of course, St. Pats.

;) Toney.

i'd also suggest asking at local bars. i've gotten several nice glasses from a place that doesn't ever use pint glasses w/ logos on them because people tend to take them. but, promoters still give them glasses, and they just give them away.

I'm doing a beer tasting party and wanted to find smaller taster or mini pint glasses. Any idea the technical name for these glasses or where I can find them?
Thank you,
Larisa

Larisa. if you cannot find any in time for your tasting, try a clear juice glass. I bought 12 for $5.99 that look like a miniature imperial pint glass (made by Libby). They worked great when we did our tasting.

Hmmm, I was in the market myself last year for glasses. I actually bouight a gamut of glasses - there are far more glasses for beer than just the pint glass. Anyway, you might try www.beerglasshopper.com They have a wide selection of glasses. If you don't mind having logos on your beer, try the Sierra Nevada website. You can also try any of the well-known breweries who usually sell glasses. I recommend the beerglasshopper, however. http://www.beerglasshopper.bigstep.com/generic.html?pid=3

Last year my wife bought a set of 6 traditional crown pints for me from Crate and Barrel and I seem to remember them being reasonably priced; they do have a website. You might also want to check Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon. I was just there last week and they had traditional crowns as well as more common Americans with logos, some pretty cheap, others for $5 or $6 with quotes about beer. They also had traditionally shaped crown half-pints from Samuel Smith's - twice as large as a taster. I also seem to remember them having some Rogue 4 oz. tasters. Belmont Station also has a great website. Red Hook also gives their tasters away at the end of their $1 tour if you need an excuse to go to Seattle or Portsmouth, NH.

The english-pub style I prefer for the ESBs and Pale Ales I've brewed so far are available at Costplus in my home town for $2.95, which seems to match the Crate & Barrel price from their website. Not sure how widespread Costplus is, but here's a link top their website which includes a store locator.

Frankly, I thought $1.95 would be a more appropriate price, but I ran out of places to look around here and on the web, and just bit the bullet. I only bought 8, though; if somebody finds a great wholesale type outlet, let us all know.
