I was looking for the number of Dixie Liquors because I wanted to see what sixtels they had in stock. (Currently only one - Kronenbourg). Anyway I cam across this listing of DC liquor stores with addresses and phone numbers. Pretty darn handy!

That is fantastic. Who would have thought there would have been that many liquor stores in DC (I am still young and naive to the area)

Now I wish I knew which one carried 1/6 kegs of good beer. I know a couple.

I got my DFH sixtels from Dixie (also got a parking ticket, be careful where you load up!).

Old Dominion supposedly has a bunch of different beers in sixtels in stock right now. I called yesterday. I'm hoping to head out there shortly to pick up a Pale Ale. :)

I know you are getting it for your kegerator, but if you wanted to get a Sixtel for a party, do you need a special tap/dispenser, or will anyone work?

I was out there yeaterday and picked up a sixtel of the Pale Ale. They had New River Pale Ale, dry hopped, on cask. It was delightful.

I think the sixtels use sankey hookups. I know that Blue & Gray Brewing in Fredericksburg rents the kegerators and has different size kegs to fit them. Check out their website.

I think most if not all American sixtels use the standard Sankey coupler. Be aware that there are some import sixtels (or equivalents) that do not. Hoegaarden for instance uses the A coupler ("German Slider").
