Beer is the best drink on a smoltering afternoon. I love to sit on the beach with a cooler full of cold ones. One that I can reccomend is Harp. This wonderful blonde ale comes from the emerald shores of Ireand. It is light enough that a few go down with no effort for long marathong drinking in the hot sun. The taste is a little sweet and has no bitter aftertaste. So sit on the beach and enjoy a Harp. T

Welcome to the board. I am on the beach most weekends. I sometimes bring beer but more often gatorade or water. IF I am going to bring beer out on the beach it is usually some sort of witt or pilsner.

Actually, harp is a lager.

What other brews to you drink regularly?

I usualy like to drink Alexander Keiths Pale ale and Asahi. I also like a good stout now and then. Kilkeany is a favoruite of mine.

Beers for the beach:
Bell's Oberon
GLBC's Holy Moses ale
Harpoon Summer Lager

any Kolsch.
Problem is, all of those are sold in bottles, which make them cumbersome for the beach.

Then take a Dale's Pale Ale, Old Chub, and Paulaner OM - all in cans. And get one of those dorky plastic/melmac pint-shaped glasses to drink them out of. :)

None of which are available in our neighborhood.
I have yet to see any beer besides Butt Lite and Iron City offered in aluminum bottles.

Which is the reason I will be making a blender of margaritas to take to the beach this weekend.:)

I like margaritas too. I make those at the beach frequently when we have company over. What beach are you going to?

This place:
http://www.beaverisland.org/

It's an island out in the middle of Lake Michigan. It takes a 2 1/2 hr. ferry ride to get there. Looks like it has pretty secluded beaches. Which is what we want.

Beer will be for the cottage. Margaritas for the beach.

Looks Excellent! Have a great time there. I'll be heading down to my place for 10 days on Friday :)
