Arguably the best place in Madison to buy craft beer, Steve's Liquor has just informed me that I won a golf bag. Perfect timing too...my old one was not aging very gracefully.
Now I have an excuse to go buy some more beer!

Where in Madison is Steve's located? (Sorry to lazy to google it). I make it back to Madison several times a year for Badger games and to visit friends. I will have to stop in and check out their selection.

and
Far west side off of Mineral Point
Make sure you go into the walk in. You should also stop by Brennans (it looks like a fruit/vegatable market but they also sell cheese and beer) for other wise hard to get Colorado beers .

You're welcome!
Oh wait, that store doesn't really belong to me -- but I can dream! ;)
Janna - you gon' be at the Great Taste? Anyone else gon' be there? I'll re-post the question over at the Community Events forum too.

Thanks for the info. I will be staying in Middleton, right by Capital for the Taste. Steve's will be right on my way.

update with a pic... I was actually surprised at the quality of the bag. dual shoulder harness, light weight and sturdy, built in stand... its the perfect bag for my imperfect game.

Hi Jeff - you're welcome! And thanks for the nice endorsement for Steve's. I am always hard at work to keep that "Wall of Heaven" behind Door #9 fresh and interesting! It was nice seeing you the other day.
Salut! Janna

Hello again,
I'm just curious: when did you receive notification of the win and who notified you? I wasn't around for this fun!

I remember Steve's, but didn't make it there much, as I lived near campus. I usually got beer at Ken Kopp's on Monroe (R.I.P.) or Mike's Wine Shop on Regent. Man, this takes me back. Madison really is a good-beer-friendly university town, what with 2 brewpubs near campus and craft brews at every liquor store. Of course, I drank Hamm's, Coor's Lite (inexplicably, the keg of choice at house parties 10 years ago) when I was young and stupid but got into better stuff. Madison got me into real beer. By the way, what's in the Ken Kopp's space now? Hopefully not a chain store...
