I have kegged my first batch, an IPA. Followed MW Brewing directions to a tee. Had good carbonation going for 1-2 days and lots of krausen when I removed lid to transfer to carboy after 1 week. I force carbonated it but there is not a hint of hoppiness but rather, it tastes like a sweet liquid porridge with floating specks; specks and hops I expected; carmelized porridge I wasn't. Something seems not right. Fermenting temperature & conditions in the basement, on the floor, were consistent. Any ideas where I went wrong before I try another batch? This time it is a Honey Weiss (my wife is sick of hoppy stuff). Thanks for being patient with a first-timer.

What is the FG? Is it what you expected?

Sweet sounds like it's not done yet....
IPA's really require dry hopping and if you like it bitter, more hops in the boil than typically come in a kit.
I just tried my first IPA last night, I dry hopped it with 1 oz of Columbian (hops...) and it's freaking fantastic! I couldn't believe that I made it..
you can dry hop in your keg and time will tone down the sweetness...just be patient.

did you add hops? or were you just using the kit's extract (probably hopped).
I love my beer hoppy, so I always add hops to the boil. I don't think you get much hop flavor from hopped extract.

I stirred the wort as I crashed/cooled it. I spoke to a brewer in Indiana and this would seem to explain the cloudiness. I used the hops that came in the kit but the sweetness would also tell me that the dry yeast that came with it may not have fully fermented the brew.
Question - can I pitch more yeast now that it has been sitting refrigerated & kegged in its unpleasant state for ~3 weeks?
Any hope left for this batch?

I don't know about restarting fermentation, but I do know that as it sits it will continually age and condition. The sweetness will age away but it may take several months.
