Went to a BBQ this weekend in Ashburn and stopped at the brewery to pick-up some growlers for the party. While there, tried the Irish Cream Ale - something I never had before. Very "Boddington-like". Went down very quickly :)

We wanted to get the Krystal Weizen that we tried at the festival, but our server said it was very popular and they wouldn't have more available until next week. Also, we learned that they will be doing another batch of Oak Barrel Millenium this year.

For the record, took four growlers to the party: Oak Barrel Stout, Summer Wheat, Victory Amber and Winter Brew (Imperial Stout). I know, doesn't sound like your typical summer beer selection, but all were very popular.

I think I'll be inviting you to my next bbq. Is Old Dominion out of the way coming to Louisiana?

Sure, it's right near Dulles airport. The question is how many growlers will they let me take on the plane?

I love the Oak Barrel Stout. And I have a sixtel of the Victory on my kegerator. (Not my favorite OD beer but all they had when I was buying.) I have a large collection of growlers that I need to return as well. Next time you're in the neighborhood give me a shout. And I recommend the Tupper's on cask.

Damn, they still had the Winter Brew available?

Yep, it's basically an Imperial Stout, so it is not too Seasonal. Actually went down really easy in the heat at the party.

That's one of the great things about ODB. They usually have three stouts on tap - the Oak Barrel, The Imperial, and their Irish Stout. Of course, I'm speaking as a big lover of stouts.

Yeah, I love the Winter Brew. But was told it was all gone when I was there a few weeks ago.

Wonder what they have in sixtels today. I'm considering going for one before I leave for the beach tonight. (The Wilson Bridge is gonna be a nightmare this weekend.) I'll give them a call. I'd really like a sixtel of NRPA or the OD Pale Ale.

You'll probably be faster going around the top side of the Beltway, Chaz!

They only had Black and Tan. I'm hoping to get to Dog Fish Head tomorrow. I'm here at the beach tonight.
