So who on the boards actually lives fairly close to OKC/Norman?!

Sister in law is actually in OKC and the in-laws live in Guthrie. Does that count?

Do they brew beer? :)
Yeah, that counts!

Nope, sister in laws husband usually has Sam Adams in the fridge and thats about it. The rest usually don't drink. I did start homebrewing when I lived in Enid for a while. Only way to get good beer.

I hate to say this, but Oklahoma may be the single worst state that I've visited in the U.S. (and I've been to most of 'em) for beer culture. Beautiful scenery in the Western part of the state as well as the lush hills on the East side, very nice people, but a bad beer scene.
3.2% law that is beyond archaic, and a generally awful selection of available craft brews - slim to none. I spent a couple of days in OKC about 2 years ago, and have spent the night in both Tulsa and Clinton on driving trips. Same thing across the board - no selection whatsoever. I feel for any of you guys that are into craft beer who live in the Sooner State....well, there's always the internet.

Have to agree with Hops99, at least you can get some decent beer in OKC and Tulsa if you look hard enough. The rest of the state is a lost cause as far as beer goes. You do have some good homebrewers in the state. Heck we had a homeberw club in Enid when I lived there and some of those guys could brew truely amazing beers. Usually when visiting the in-laws I end up drinking Sam Adams or Shiner Bock. You can usually find both even in farily small restaurants. I actually don't drink a whole lot when visiting though, just not worth drinking bad beer.

Actually thanks to yet another crappy OK law, you can't ship alcohol into the state, so the internet won't do us much good. Some liquor stores do carry good beer though. Stored warm, but better than nothing. I hope to get the heck out of here someday though, and beer is a large part of the reason.

Not completely sure about this one due to the recent Supreme Court ruling. Also I know my in-laws have gotten wine shipped to them from CA.

I didn't know there was a relevant supreme court ruling recently. Sounds promising though. All I know is that any internet store I've encountered so far won't ship to OK, including Michael Jackson's rare beer club, which I would love to be part of.

I have cause to travel to Tulsa several times a year and have not found any micro brewery or pub that sells anything but the standards.
Any suggestions??
