someone told me recently that it was a good idea to seal caps as well as corks with wax on beers that i plan to cellar...but i never got the chance to ask how. has anyone heard of this before/done this before. and if so what type of wax do you use and how do you go about doing it. thanks

i meant to add that i am only considering doing this for beers that i intend to cellar for a long time.

the alesmith does this, they cap the beer then wax it , just on the old knumbskull i think though. from the looks of it they just dip it in hot wax , no two bottles have the same look as far as the wax so i think they dip them by hand but i don't know if thats good for the beer , the heat that is . it wasn't really wax it had more of a rubber type texture to it . i'll have a look see and see what i come up with.
cheers
