[Apologies for possible breech of etiquette by starting a new thread when there is an old thread about beer songs.]

I made an iTunes iMix playlist of beer songs called "songs for realbeer.com." I think you may need iTunes for the link to work. Some classics, lots of Texas songs, 2 of them aren't too much about about beer but have great beer lines ("One more beer before happy hour" and "Peel a lable off a Miller light..."). Of course there is no accounting for the artists' taste in beer :>

Pub With No Beer, The Celtic Folk
Beer, Beer, Beer, The Clancy Brothers
Beer Barrel Polka, Willie Nelson

Beer Run , Todd Snider
Pop a Top, Alan Jackson
Raise Hell Drink Beer, Eleven Hundred Springs
Una Mas Cerveza, Texas Tornados
Una más cerveza, Tommy Alverson

You forgot "Beer, Bait, and Ammo", though sadly, I can't come up with the artist who sang it.

-- Beer
Reel Big Fish -- Beer
Smash Mouth -- Beer Goggles
JT Blanton -- Long Neck Connected to the Beer Joint
The Replacements -- Beer for Breakfast
Garth Brooks -- Beer Run
Stray Cats -- Lookin' Better every Beer
Reverend Horton Heat -- Beer :30

A few more:

"Bring Us Good Ale - Maddy Prior & Tim Hart
"Three Drunken Maidens" - Maddy Prior & Tim Hart
"the Parting Glass" - the Clancy Brothers (and about 1,000 others)
"The Jar" - Damien Dempsey
"Bird Dog" - The Verlaines
'More Beer" - Fear
"General Guinness" - Boys of the Lough
'Im Munchen Steht ein Hofbrauhaus" - (too many to name)

There are a million Irish, Scottish, Australian, English, and German pub songs I could list but don't have the time.

LOL! Haven't heard of that one! I'll have to check out your Austin band recommendation, too. Funny how Texans like their beer songs. (Gig 'em, Ags, btw.)

I wanted to limit the list to 24--an even case--but somehow two of my picks didn't make it. Must be that they weren't iTunes tunes. Oh well, they usually tell me that I am little short of a full case...

Now see, I always took umbrage with this song - it really wouldn't be heaven if there was no beer, now would it?

And the Hofbräuhaus München obviously gets this concept as their tagline has always been "Himmel nach Bayern," Heven in Bavaria - and their Oktoberfest tent roof depicts a heavenly scene. :)

Prosit!

Oh yes we do! You can take the girl outta Texas...

I'll ignore the rest!

Both of 'em are on itunes. Have fun! (I should also list the Spankers' song D.R.I.N.K., though not strictly about beer!)

Yup! Lets all sing along..........
B-double E double R U-N-beer run
B-double E double R U-N-beer run
all we need is a ten and five-er,
car and key and a sober driver,
B-double E double R U-N-beer run........................

The drummer from the Happy Schnapps Combo owns the Liquor store by my house. They have a small but very decent selection of beer.

Edit- Ah, and here it is. Bottom of the page. It would be much cooler if I happened to be in the pic picking up a 6'er. http://my.execpc.com/~sjkrautk/schnapps.html

We've actually had the Schnappers play at home-brew club events - in people's back yards! They're a fun bunch to party with when they were still together - probably still are!

I have a HSC shot glass from winning a polka contest once (my friend's wife and I were the only ones dancing - and I think it was to Beer Run) and a hat from some Wisc. tractor dealer that Horst gave me - heh.

Raise it!
