Anyone sampled their wares? Their cask?

I had the opportunity to visit the Eugene Steelehead back around 1997 and their brews were very good. I also was able to visit the short-lived pub they had near the Warf in san Francisco back in 2001 and their brews were very good there too.
Brewmaster Teri Fahrendorf was one of the first women in the business and has received many accolades. I can't imagine they aren't doing cask right.

I had their Pale Ale at KClingers near Harrisburg. A decent beer, nothing spectacular. It wasn't poured too well and the sparkler didn't help. Nonetheless, I'd get it again without the sparkler.

Harrisburg, PA? If so, are you sure it was the same Steelhead? There's a Steelhead Red brewed by the North Peak Brewing Co., and a Steelhead Extra Pale brewed by Mad River Brewing - neither micro has an affiliation with the Steelhead Pubs.

I've been through the Steelhead brewpub in Eugene a few years back, I'm not even sure if they're still operating at that location. The beers were fair at best, nothing that I thought were stellar, at least when compared to the legions of other beers available in the area. The only brew that still stands out in my memory was some type of coffee stout. In summary, not something that I would seek out again, but not something that I would push away from me either.

Still there - looks about the same too:

I dunno, as said - I was there about 8 years ago, and my palate most certainly has changed, but Eugene had 3 brew-pubs downtown (and not a very big downtown) at the time and I thought Steelhead was about the best. Maybe it's just that I've been to so many mediocre brew-pubs that Steelhead stood out for being a step better?

My memory has cleared up a bit reading your post Steveh. When I was there, there were four brewpubs in the area - Wild Duck (closed), Mcmenaimins, Steelhead, and another that has since become a Rogue Brewhouse. For some reason I felt the need to visit all of them on one afternoon, perhaps that's why I don't remember the visit all that well.

He, he, he. We visited Steelhead ahead of the formal tour from the Microbreweries and Brew-pubs conference out of Portland, then headed over to the Brothers Barbecue (IIRC), we steered clear of the McMennamin's. Not sure if the Wild Duck was there - and I believe the BBQ place is closed too - and that's too bad 'cause they had good Q.

I live in Eugene an go to the Steelhead from time to time. Terry and Jamie are all about the beer. I haven't gotten a bad brew there to date and have sampled some that were fantastic. One beer that comes to mind as something very special is Jamie's Hopasaurus Rex. We've got 5 breweries in the area here, and Steelhead and Rogue are the best of the lot.

Banjo, did Rogue take over tha BBQ place I was talking about? It was across that main square from Steelhead...as I recall.

Rogue took over the old West Bros. BBQ location on Olive. It has a 7 or 10 bbl brewery in the basement. West Bros. BBQ is now called River Ranch steakhouse and it's over past U of O on Franklin. Still very good BBQ. There's a new brewery opening in a german restaurant in Springfield, the brewer used to work for Spaten. I can't remember the name of the place. It used to be Spensers. I hope they live up to my expectations.

Been out of the loop: it was the Extra Pale. Sounds like no affiliation. Nevermind.....
