I know a guy that just moved to Omaha with the military, and the beer retailers he's seen so far have been less than impressive. Anyone here know of a beer retailer in Omaha with a large selection of micros and imports, that I can pass along to him? If you only have the names, that should work, he can us a phone book from there (or check the various Omaha civic websites that pimp local businesses, there seems to be a few of them, but it's hard to tell who's good and who's not).
Thanks!
The best selection in town is Cornhusker Beverage at 85th and "K" Street. This place has a pretty decent selection, but this is beer hell for a reason. If he ever makes it down to Lincoln there is N Street Liquor on 21st and N Street that has a few things that Cornhusker doesn't have.
I don't know much about the bars in Omaha, but the best one in Lincoln is Yia Yia's, which has by far the best beer selection in the state.
Hope it helps, but give my condolences to your friend if he was hoping for better.

Here is a list of some beer stores from BA's BeerFly:
Husker Beer! (http://www.beeradvocate.com/beerfly/list?path=%2Fbeerfly%2Flist&sort=name&show=search&name=&city=omaha&s_id=NE&c_id=&zip=&area=&submit=+search+&store=Y)
Wild Oats and Spirit World seem to get decent ratings. Worth a look for your friend.
Cheers!

First of all, Cornhusker Beverage is awful. Tell your friend to avoid it. The best beer places in Nebraska are sadly Spirit World and Wild Oats in Omaha and The Still in Lincoln.
The best bars are Crescent Moon and Huber-Haus in Omaha, plus the Dundee Dell. Yia-Yia's in Lincoln has a lot of bottles too.
