I went to a local paint store and was pleased to find a new brew : Lagunitas Y3K. I was actually quite happy since it is a limited release and the label stated it was 11.3%. I took it to my only hangout to share with the guys. We all stated that it was rather sweet. Then someone actually looked at the entire label. It stated that the O.G. was 1070. 1070??? on an 11.3% beer!?!? How is that possible. Anyone?? Can you guys ( and gals ) help me out!?

there must be a typo somewhere. 1.070 even if fermented completely dry only comes out to about 9% by volume. something is messed up on that label.

maybe it was 1.1070 - just a guess

Yeah. We thought it HAD to be something else. I said 1170 byt I was quickly shot down. 1107 is far more feasible but I am still interested as to who could have written that. A law suit?? Yeah, we could get free beer for a year for everyone on this site. :D

All Rogue bottles have the O.G. ( in Plato ) and there are others which escape me.
Just a quick stupid ? What does O.G. stand for?

OG = Original Gravity. If water's density is 1, this tells you how dense a liquid is, and in beer's case, gives you a good idea of the alcoholic content if used when brewing and comparing gravity readings at beginning and end of fermentation. :)
