Since Chaz is doing his best to run up the mid-Atlantic forum count (again), I may as well post something legit here in the top regional forum - Mr. Bruno has informed me that he wants to spend a long weekend in the Chi area coming up on the 25, 26, and 27 of June.

I suggested the 26th might be a good day to visit beautiful Libertyville and experience the Firkin, Mickey Finn's, and Tavern in the Town first-hand. Any and all local members, step up and we'll get a good crawl going!

Shhhhhh, Steve. I didn't want everyone knowing!!!

Just kidding.

Are you going to be up for a pub crawl after a day of homebrew?

I really enjoyed that Victory Golden Monkey. Chaz is going to refresh my supply in the near future.

Oh yeah, and who you callin' little????

Not True. We are hoping to host a local tasting soon. And we have an active beer scene in DC area. Since the big Realbeer get together will not be happening I am trying to get our area organized and keep up threads on our local brew scene and local members. In my view this is legit.

Hmm, haven't received a recent e-mail from the Firkin...hope it wasn't tagged as "junk" by updated Entourage... (freaking Microsoft)

Bruno, I am sending the package today via Fed Ex. I hoped it is packed well enough. I did it in hurry.

Guess what "reminder" e-mail I just got?

Golden Monkey, Prima Pilsner, Hop Devil, and Festbier.

And I don't think I can make it. :(

Trying to stir this up again - Bruno is headed north (sort of) this coming weekend. For anyone who wants to participate, we're thinking of the Firkin and Mickey Finn's on Sunday, June 26.

You gents have a great time. I wish I could be there too. I really enjoyed Chicago and your hospitality. Not to mention some very fine beers! Bruno, How is that Golden Monkey?

Had one last night as a matter of fact. I really like that one, but it goes down way too easy for the alcohol content.

I believe Steve has an engagement lasting into mid-afternoon. So probably early evening.

Steve?

My schedule is open. I'm not making any other concrete plans.

steveh

Huh? No engagement - except maybe with my pillow. We're talking Sunday the 26th, right? Was thinking early afternoon. Since I have to work Monday morning, I was hoping to be finished with our sampling by early evening.

No luncheon? or was I thinking of a different day?

I mentioned the home-brew club picnic the day before, but nothin' on Sunday...unless something has completely slipped my mind...

Gents???? How's about me?

I'd love to join.

We're planning on the Firkin or Finn's around 2:00. Just not sure which one to hit first - any thoughts Bruno? Maybe I'll call to see what Finn's has on tap and cask. Otherwise, the Reißdorf Kölsch at the Firkin is outstanding.

Okay, Ken and I will be at the Firkin or Mickey Finn's around 3-ish.

I hope I don't miss everyone again! I blew it when Stod was in town, too. I didn't even get to meet him.:(

Bruno and I met up yesterday, got to finally meet Osh, and it looks like we have some new recruits for RealBeer -- I see Hophead has joined us, how about you Dave? You out there?

A(nother) good time was had by all -- maybe too good, based on the quantity of my yawns today.

Yep, difinitely a successful weekend.

Did the Libertyville thing (firkin and finn's) with Steve, and as he said, met a couple other members.

Next day was Bucktown; Piece, then to Lotties, Map Room, and then to Quenchers a little further north. Yesterday was The Taste of Chicago early in the day, then I had plans to go to Clark St. Ale House, but they didn't open 'til 4pm, so on to Goose Island before I headed toward home.

Ah, back to work!
