View Full Version : Need help from New Englanders

I apologize for posting about maps, not beer but I didn't know where else to ask. I very recently got my hands on a 1:200000 map (equals 1" = 3.2 miles) of the eastern part of southern New England (= New London to Cape Cod) and all the way up to Portsmouth NH.

Now I'm frantically searching for other road maps covering the rest of New England in the same scale. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure about the scale, but DeLorme makes the best atlases of the area, done state by state.

You can get these from amazon.com or just pick them up there from Wal-Mart or any similar store.

Naah, those Delorme atlases are no good for me. I need a map that I can fold out.

I can send you some road maps from AAA if you'd like. Not sure what scale they are. I think I can stop by their office and get some free ones. I'll try at lunchtime today and check them out. I'll let ya know....

I forgot a PS there though. Yeah, I am planning another trip for Spring / early Summer 2006.
Since the political situation here in Germany is totally uncertain (our socialdemocrat / green party coalition is about to break up and we might or might not have general elections in September and God knows who'll be in power around here by the time christmas comes around...) this passport / finger printing issue is up in the air more than ever. I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and apply for a regular tourist visa at the Frankfurt consulate. Anything to avoid getting finger printed like a shoplifter... :/
