I knew there was a reason I liked this beer a little more than some of the usual Old Domionion offereings (Don't get me wrong, I love most Dominion products.) I just read that it uses my favorite Amarillo Gold hop in addition to Centennial, Cascade, and Columbus hops. There is just something delicious about the amarillo hop that sends me.

That gives me a great idea for a breakfast beer: How about a Coffee Oatmeal Porter with Amarillo (by morning - get it?) hops! :D

Coopersmith's Brewpub here in town makes a Jitterbug Porter that almost tastes like cold coffee. Makes me wonder just how much caffeine is really in it, tasty as it is...

Someone sent me a New River PA in a beer trade. Nice beer. I actually requested it when a buddy went back to DC area and was stopping at Chevy Chase. Out of anything I could have asked for, I wanted more New River.

Cheers!

I like it too. It is a contract product that Old Dominion does. Let me know if you want more.

New river is a hell of alot better on draft (isn't everything), but i got used to that stuff going to school in blacksburg where it is the local beer so all the grocery stores and a few of the bars carry it. Definately one of my favorite things about SW virginia.

I read the story about the guy who started New River. Tragic. I think it was on their website. It was a year or so ago.
