I bottled my first IPA over the weekend, it was a first in many ways, my first partial mash, first IPA, first time I had dry hopped.
I was concerned about how I put the hops in...I didn't think of dry hopping until I had already transferred, so I just threw the hops in the mouth of the carboy and let them sit. I expected a secondary ferment, but nothing happened, I wonder if it was because of how I put them in? I would think that they would mix into the wort much slower that way? I was worried that they wouldn't mix in at all, but after two weeks in the secondary, I pulled the carboy out and the hops were completely and thorougly mixed in...
The aroma was fantastic, I could barely wait until my sampler bottle was ready to taste!!
My O.G. was 1.070 and the F.G. was 1.016. not the lowest, but considering the starting, I was happy with it.
It's going to vanish long before it's peaked, but that's okay!

Yesterday I recieved my Arrogant Bastard clone and a double chocolate stout kit from Austin Homebrew. I couldn't wait, so I cooked up the Arrogant last night! mmmmm.....it smelled sooo goood!!
10.5 pounds of malt! My O.G. was 1.084!!! by this morning it was already starting to kick off!
I am still contemplating dry hopping it even though the recipe doesn't call for it...

Life is good!!!

I have a Hefe getting ready to bottle, and an Oragne blossom honey wheat that is going to be absolutely fantastic!! When I transferred it, the gravity was 1.004! I imagine it's due to the honey, it is supposed to ferment quickly and completely.
Add another on to the list of my summer beers, this stuff is going to kick A**!!!!
