So I am coming out to the Walnut Creek area from DC in the middle of July and am looking for good places to get good beer, either brewpubs, or beer stores. Does anyone from the area have any good suggestions. I am also open to any good brewery's in the area as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Walnut Creek used to have three breweries, but I believe they're down to just one now. A Pyramid. I'm not sure at all about beer stores. You could always hop on BART and go up to Concord and go to the new EJ Phair pub. They have a production brewery in Concord and just recently opened a restaurant. I've heard good things, and their beers are very good. You could also take BART in the opposite direction and head over to Berkeley and check out Triple Rock and Jupiter. And you could even take it over to SF and hit some of the breweries there. 21st Amendment and Thirsty Bear are both somewhat close to BART stations.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, once you're around that area the BART can get you where you need to go. There's GOTTA be a place for you. It's great "up" there. Have fun.

"Beverages and More" on North Main street carries a good selection of local brews, some from socal as well. Check it out if you want to pick up a six pack or some singles.

watch out for hippies, especially if you get close to the UC Berkeley campus

No, most are just old and mostly harmless. They can be pretty amusing to watch sometimes.
