Oh, those progressive Oregonians! For more than 20 years, Oregon parents have been able to have a beer with their pizza and watch a movie with their kids at McMeniman's brew pub theatres. Paste link below into your browser for newspaper article:

We have/had a small chain of Theater Pubs here in New England - Chunky's Cinema Pubs. Cheap ($5-6) for second run movies, decent pub grub and a few decent bottled craft brews - used to have local Smuttynose available. Sit in reclining leather seats (from Lincoln Continentals), watch a movie (or Monday night football) and have a beer or two. Never heard of any problems.
Gotta love this quote from the article:
"Agency staff members drafted a proposed rule change that would have allowed movie pubs to sell beer and wine, but only if minors were seated separately from drinking adults while watching a film."
How is this different than at home? Sorry, kids, dad wants to drink a beer while watching the movie. You'll have to sit on the porch and look through the window 'til I'm done...
Cheers!

There is also the Laurelhurst Theater. Serves micro brews and pizza. 4 small theaters showing movies for $1.50. Great little place and you have to support the indy businesses.
BTW, it's in Portland, too.

Arlington, VA had a theatre that sells beer and dinners.
Also, I was in Ashville, NC and visited a brewpub there that was housed in an old movie theatre and they played movied too. I for get the name of this brewpub. It was a few years ago.
