An old kit

I have a Bock I found the other day in the basement. It was packaged in 2001. Would this be a waste of time to brew being how old it is?

extract with dried yeast may be allright. Liquid yeast should be replaced, any hops you would want to replace as well. Other than that its just sugar. As long as it was properly sealed I would imagine it would be ok.

I agree with Tweek. If it is a hopped kit, you still want to add some fresh hop to the wort.
