Has anyone here made spiced beer?

I made a small batch on Saturday and sampled it today to see how spiced it was.

I plan on using a secondary and let it stay bottled for at least 2-4 weeks, giving it a total age of 4-6 weeks. It is supposed to mellow out and not taste as spiced when it is done, right?

it sounds like you are hoping that it will mellow out! and it usually does to some extent, it may just take a little while. i brewed my first spiced beer this winter, and it mellowed after a while, but i still think i over did it with the spices. i would have liked more beer flavor and less spice. oh well, next time ill do better. best of luck with it.
