seems we are a bright, witty bunch, we homebrewers and I've heard a few pretty humorous names for clubs... so, share with us:
do you belong to a homebrew club?
if so, what's the name?
anything else you'd like to share about your club...

lol @ "zealots"... that's great!
the club I joined is called the Bloatarian Society (http://hbd.org/bloat/home.html)
various members took a total of 9 medals at the National Homebrew Competition last month... results in the East Division here (http://www.beertown.org/events/nhc/1st_round.html#east)

I'm loosely affiliated with the "Dead Yeast Society" here in Lafayette. By affiliated, I mean I get a 10% discount at the LHBS.

The club in this area is not quite as witty. It is the Salt City Brew Club. One of the LHBS gives the members a 10% discount. I have not belonged in a few years now.

The Kenosha Bidal Society. Bidal is supposedly an old English term for brewing...Richard?
S.
Brewmeisters Anonymous (http://brewarizona.org/). Many in our club have honed their craft well with beer and mead plus we have a few microbrewers that are even more gifted.

For many years I was a member of BURP Brewers United for Real Potables. Since I no longer homebrew, I let my membership lapse.

I started in the 70s. Out of necessity. But about 93 or 94 the commercial selection was so good there was no longer a need unless I wanted to just for fun. I guess I just got lazy. I am, however, interested in the possibility of investing in some top notch equiptment. Stainless Steel Conicle fermenters and such and possibly having a co-op with some other local homebrewers. We all pitch in and one guy would have to keep it at his place but allow us access to the brewery. I could see putting something really good together for around 3,500. - 5,000. A semi professional set up so to speak. And If I put up the most money, I might ask that one or two of the other guys occasionally brew and keg batches for me. If I don't do it myself. I want to set up a kegerator at my beach place.

If you buy the equiptment and have it delivered to my house, I'd be glad to ship a corny to you every now and again.

Halifax Nova Scotia has a club called "The Brewnosers",
for those who don't get it- Nova Scotians are sometimes called "bluenosers", because of the ship i guess?

Very similar to the Co-Op we had until everyone moved away. While I was running the brewery I would use their system as a pilot brewery, supplying the essentials for test batches and then letting them buy all their other needed stuff for cost +10%. We would do 4-5 batches at a whack and then split out the beer. When I got hurt I had to obviously stop.

Some of the clubs in this area are the KC Biermeisters (http://kcbiermeisters.org) , the Lawrence Brewers Guild (http://www.lawrencebrewers.org/) , The Topeka Hall of Foamers and then ZZ Hopps.
The Lawrence guys have some good pictures of me giving them a tour back in the day. A few shots of my tiny little brewhouse where I earned the nickname "Brewmonkey."

This is me for those wondering...

Took a little head scratching but I started brewing with a club in Enid, OK called the Fermented Minds. Don't know if they still exist or not.
