Hey my husband has a jocky box that is really, really dirty how do we clean the lines? Is it even worth it? should we just buy new hoses? Any input would help!!!

Here's a link to some Beer line cleaning kits (http://www.kegworks.com/shoppingcart/customer/home.php?cat=395).

You should really clean them every keg or so.

Good luck!

well, if the hoses are dirty, most likely the coils, or the cold plate, are dirty too, and you don't want to just toss all that stuff.

if the thought of a $50 cleaning kit is difficult for you, another option would be a small drill powered pump. get a garden hose to small hose barb adapter too. make up a bucket of cleaning solution (PBW or BLC), cut the beer line right at the Sankey, shove the beer line onto your adapter, and pump cleaning solution around according to the instructions. i'd let the first, gunky runnings go down the drain, then just recirculate into the bucket... (I'd toss the sankey into the bucket, let it soak while you're cleaning the lines...)

are those kits really necessary? Wouldnt filling a keg with starsan or the like and running it through do the trick?

yeah, but it becomes a bit more challenging if all you have are commercial kegs. then you have to deal with removing the spear, cleaning it, replacing the snap ring, all kinds of PITA things...

cool. I have a new (for me) kegerator that needs cleaning. I am not a scrub type of guy when chemicals can do the job just as good.

I've got just the thing you need for cleaning lines with sankey valves. Let me know when you want to clean them and I'll bring it over.

Perhaps next weekend we can do a test fire of the new kettles and clean those lines in between beers?
