Just a friendly piece of advice for all you vacationing homebrewers. If I offend anyone that likes this brew, it is not intended. I just got back from Yellowstone/Jackson Hole, Wyoming on vacation. While there, I tried an "ESB" from the Teton Brewing Company out of Idaho Falls. Jeeezzusss---that crap is absolutely terrible. Those boys got waaayy too hop-happy on that one---it tasted like they used some mutant Cascade hop strain, and it also tasted like some junk my neighbor brewed last year. Three brews I can recommend highly, though, are:
Snake River Brewing's Pale Ale & Vienna Style lager;
Deschute's Brewing Mirror Pond Pale Ale.

Can anyone else relate to drinking an absolutely terrible "beer"?

ESB is just a style of beer, Red Hook makes an ESB that is great! Sounds like you got ahold of a crappy beer!

It was crappy, all right!! I placed the ESB in quotes, because that is what they called it, but it was anything but an ESB. I think Teton Brewing called it "Bitch Creek ESB". I expected a very nice, hearty, somewhat malty brew. I will shout from the highest mountaintop, extolling the atrociousness of this beer. I, too, have tried the Redhook ESB and I agree---it is great stuff!! Pretty much what I was expecting from "Mutant Cascade Ale" before I tasted it. I don't think I got through a third of the bottle. I advised the waitress to remove from their beer list immediately!
