I was going to brew an American Brown yesterday, and went down to my fridge in the basement to get my smack pack out, and it was frozen! I was quite angry because that is the fridge where I store my beer (while it waits for the journey to the main Refrigerator on the 1st floor) and ingredients. I always keep it on a lower cool setting of of 3 out of 8. The only thing I could think of was that when I had a party back on April 16th, someone went down there to grab a beer, and thought the fridge wasn't cold enough and turned it up to 6! Why can't people just leave their hands off other peoples things :mad: Anyway, I brought it up to room temp. and smacked the pack. Well, lucky for me it started to swell after only an hour. I checked the carboy this morning and it was fermenting nicely, I got lucky. Just goes to show, it never hurts to try.
