Hi all i`m new to using starsan i made a batch up at 1/2 oz to 2.5 gal of water and added it to a spray bottle. the appearance is clear and has very little foaming action is this normal? I want to spray inside my 15 gal. fermenter without having to fill the thing but need to know if this is stuff is woring right . thanks Don

If you have mixed it in proper ratios and the Star-San has not expired then you are good to go. Unless you are agitating it by sloshing it back and forth you will not see a lot of foaming. Dump the mixture into the carboy and shake well. I think you will see that you have plenty of foam to do the job.

I wouldn't feel secure only spraying some into my carboy.
I usually take 1/4 oz or so and about a gallon of water and shake that around in my carboys. Sure, it foams up, but at least I know that I hit all the surfaces. Using it from a spray bottle into my carboy wouldn't give me that assurance. Small items -- no problem spraying them.
