Can anyone recommend a good lager I should be able to purchase recently bottled in the Daytona Beach area? Preferably not produced by a large corporation. I cant seem to find any local or even regional breweries with taste on thier mind.

Good luck!
I was there (Cocoa Beach) in Feb. and couldn't find anything locally produced.
Let us know if you come up with anything.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't I read somewhere on this board that Yuengling is starting to distribute in FL? Not the best, but certainly not the worst lager you'll ever have.
BTW, I'd recommend Sam Adams as a decent 'stepping stone' lager, too.
I have seen the AB trucks painted up in Yuengling fashion but didnt look into it to much(didnt know it was a lager:eek: ). Maybe Ill try that tonight. Please keep suggestions coming(if possible) as I would like to open my repetoire of decent beers that I like. I do get bored with the same old, same old.

Yuengling should be around down there. They have a brewing facility in FL.
AFA other local craft selections, good luck finding something decent, from what I've read/seen/heard about FL.

Actually, Budweiser paints theirs up in Yuengling fashion, not the other way around. Yuengling is the oldest brewery in the US, something like 50 or 60 years older then Anheuser Busch, and Bud's quality isn't even in the same time zone as "Ying-Yang". They opened a brewery in the Tampa area a few years ago. Good quality basic lager. Plus, I have a few friends in Florida who constantly harp that it's less expensive then either Bud or Miller.
Any chance anything from Atlanta Brewing Co makes it down there? If so, their Laughing Skull Bohemian Pilsner is quite good for the style.
I was mistaken in an earlier post, it is actually S.R. Perrott(our local Miller distributor) whose trucks are painted in Yuengling colors. They also distribute most of our bottom shelf imports(i.e. Heiny). I havent noticed anything from Atl. around but Im not familiar with thier brands. I have been able to find decent beer by hanging around back alley liquor stores and larger ABC's.
