just wanted to throw this out for the Twin Cities (and greater area) realbeer members and guests...
this Friday, April 29th; after the first two sessions of the AHA NHC (National Homebrew Competition) first round judging, we're heading out for some socializing at Barley John's brewpub, starting around 10pm. Please come and join us...

yeah it occurs to me now i have no idea what/where barley johns is either...
the only places i really know in the twin cities area are great waters and rock bottom. if there are other good ones, clue me in!
i used to live in red wing. the staghead is a nice place to get a beer there. they have a pretty good selection of regional micros, including moose drool, one of my favorites.

it's in New Brighton, maybe a half mile west of 35W and County Road D... the map makes it pretty easy, it's up on top of the hill...

Town Hall is my fave. They are by the U, West Bank on Washington Ave. at 7 Corners. A 10 minute walk to the Metrodome. I always park there when I go to a Twins game. Great beer, great food, great atmosphere.

In general, a rb forum meet would be fun.
:)
Quite possible the world's smallest brewpub...

that's true, but in the spring/summer/fall, they have a very nice outdoor area and a fireplace...

well, I ended up not making it. my wife called me while we were judging, our two dogs got out of the yard somehow and were at the city pound. so, $125 later, I was home last night combing those stickers out of both dogs....
grr...

that would be a lot of fun. that is, if you'd let a young guy like me (21) tag along. i'm guessing most of you guys have been at this a bit longer than me. but don't worry, i learn quickly, haha.

 Lucan, MN has a brewpub (2 barrel system)and they have a population of about 240 and are surrounded by farm towns of similar size.I've only had their Belgian Dubbel and it was excellent. We have our family reunion there every year and I haven't been there in 25 years, but now that I know about the brewpub, I'll be there with bells on this year.Probably a relative running it.Go figure.
The Brauhaus, someday I have to get there, I've had a couple of their beers at fests...does their bar seat more than 5 people?
Anyways, I'm amazed that their business plan works in that underpopulated an area...
