Hello all,
Business will bring me to Dallas in June. Since my Nationals will be playing the Rangers in Arlington the weekend before, I have decided to come down a couple days early.
I will be staying in Arlington near the ballpark.
So, two questions:
How is the beer at the ballpark?
Are there any local brewpubs/beer bars that are must visits?
Thanks in advance!

The beer at the ballpark is okay, depending on where you sit. If you want something other than coors/miller/bud, you may have to walk to find a vendor that sells it. I know that behind the Rangers on deck circle there is a beer stand that sells 22 oz Shiners. There are a couple of vendors that have a pretty good selection of different beers. The Rawlings Sports grill has a pretty decent selection on draft as well.
There is a Humperdinks near the ballpark, the beer there is decent. I usually get the IPA there. As far as beer bars there is Sherlocks and PNP's. Both have a pretty big selection of beers on draft. In Fort Worth there is a microbrewery that is open on Saturdays from 1-3, for a free tasting. Check it out at www.rahrbrewing.com .

Thanks! How are the fans at the park. Would I be "safe" wearing my Nationals gear? I would assume so. We are usually pretty nice to Dallas fans up here...
You guys did steal our team back in the 70's, so I would think for that reason alone I would be alright.
Also, what's a good section to be in for an afternoon game? I plan on going Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

Yeah, you'll be okay. Its not like going to NY or Boston. Just don't get loud and abnoxious like the A's fans tend to here.
If you sit on the first base side during the day game, its the side that gets the shade first. Since its about Mid-June when your here the temps will be creeping into the mid to upper 90's. I would stay out of right field just because if you sit in that area you can't see the Jumbotron. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks for the scoop. I didn't think y'all would be hostile to the visiting fans, and I am not the type to stir things up. I'm just there to watch a game and enjoy a brew or two.
Since the Nats are a "new" team, sort of, I want to show them some support on the road.
If you think you will go to the game, let me know. I am in town on business and know pretty much no one in the area.

I'll see what I can do, I may be able to talk some friends into going also. We may even be able to tailgate before the game:cool:
