does anyone know if it would be possible to bottle a beer from a growler. the reason i ask is because the beer store i shop at always has 2 kegs on tap that they sell growlers from. this week they have dogfish head 90 minute ipa on tap, (try as they might they can not get it in bottles), and i love this beer and would love to have some in bottles (growlers dont stay carbonated). so i thought about buysing a few growlers, siphoning them into my bottling bucket and then filling bottles, but i dodnt know how it would turn out (ie would the bottles be carbonated). also would it be a good idea to add some corn sugar and/or fresh yeast.

I'd be hesitant, every time you pour from growler to bucket to bottle you're running a risk of oxidizing your beer, so even if it does stay carboated, it will start tasting like wet cardboard. I've tried bottling right from carbonated kegs, and every time, I've made a mess...
One hint, get the beer and your bottles as cold as you can, as co2 absorbs more as the temp decreases....
ask them if they'll sell you a growlers worth, but in bottles that you supply...best bet would be to bring in some ez-caps. worth a shot.

why not just bottle from the growler? should be pretty simple to put a fitting on the opening, hook up your tube and bottle filler, and have someone hold the growler upside down.
