I've seen posts for barleywine and various bocks, but what I'd like to know is who makes Imperial Stouts and where can I find them.

north caost brewing co. makes an imperial stout called old rasputtin and the stone brewing co. just came out with their imperial stout this month. im on the west coast so they're pretty easy for me to get a hold of. there are alot of other brewing co. that make them as well like victorys storm king stout, i think is an imperial, i had one but never got to drink it so i couldn't tell you much about it. where abouts are you located?

I suggest for a great one of a kind imperial stout, ou try Brooklyn Btrewery Black chocolate stout. They only make it sesonally but it is worth the wait.

One of the earlier replies mentioned the Brooklyn Brewery, which is an excellent selection. Yoiu might also try Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout. It tends to be easier to find and is certainly one of the better stouts. Checl out Michael Jackson's (not the singer) beer books for a down-and-dirty on the brewer's who make Imperials.

Lots of good choices for Imperial Stouts:
-Brooklyn Black Chocolate (seasonal but holds up well, so don't be shy about buying some now if you see it)
-Sam Smith
-McNeill's (if you live in NY or New England)
-Stone
-Magic Hat Thumbsucker
-Avery - The Czar
-The style is becoming more popular so many of your local breweries/brewpubs might have their own interpretation.
Cheers and happy drinking!

Try the victory stormking! man is it awesome. The Brooklyn black chocolate is a great choice too, really tastes like it says.
