I dont collect bottles. I collect six pack caddy's. However, i just returned from Amsterdam, and I have several empty bottles with nice labels attached, of those killer world class beers:
Trappist Rochefort #10, 8, 6
St. Bernardus ABT #12
i love the St. Bernardus label, with the monk!
these are world class beers!
11.oz, bottles...I be glad to send them to you in hopes you would trade me your micro six packs holders from your local USA micro brewery ...get in touch...such a deal to add to your bottle collection.
I only collect bottles of those beers I have drunk. You might of had better luck if those bottles had the beer still in them.

The trip was great, Here are the highlights, given quickly without my notes:
BierKoning...cant say enough good about the place, the best place to buy beer and talk beer, i went there at least five times, hauling out loads of beer to bring home...
Top Three Bars
"Ardenest" - absolutely the best service, great locally brewed beer and Bar, the Bartender was especially friendly
Cafe Belgique - Had the LaChouffe on Draft and the St. Bernardus ABT #12 on Draft......that beer was to die for!
Winjand Frockink - a most pleasant spot - the decor is to die for, just a really unique place, with more great beers.
Inn De Wildeman- home of the beer nazi! (bald headed owner?)Wouldnt go back, I appreciate that as an american my idea of service may be biased, but when i travel abroad, i do my best to be humble, quiet and say please and thank you...wouldnt matter with this asshole...cocky, arrogant and "couldnt be bothered" attitude, we were the only two people in the bar. We had a LaTrappe Double, which was fine,...but as the old saying goes"..good service can make up for bad beer, but good beer can never make up for bad service"...
Top Beers I had: Rochefot #10, #8, #6
St. Bernardus #12
La Chouffee on Draft
Fantome Black Ghost
Westvleteren simply not available, even at Bier Koning..
course i had loads of other beers, i will make a more indepth discussion of this trip on the appropriate section of the board, when i have the advantage of my notes...thanks for asking...

I wish I had kept the 500 or so I had from 1985-6. All were different and even a misprinted label on one. And a few rare ones. That was the beginning of the microbrewery era. All were from bottles I drank myself. I left them all including shelving in a house I lived in. I understand that they ultimately ended up in some frat house somewhere.

Here's one serious collector I've traded with - good guy.
Holy wall of beer, Batman! (http://home.comcast.net/~lighthousesandbeer/Home.html)
He has pics, lists and links to other collectors sites. Note: hit the "Beer Me" link on the left side of the page if the proper page doesn't load.
Cheers!
Can't say I have that many...
Currently, I have just under 900 bottles at home, all of 'em collected since 1997...this is the third time I've built a collection, I never move bottles if I move...no way its worth it, they are mostly just fun to look at for me...

That is precisely why I left mine. But now I wish I had them because there were some early and extinct micro brewery bottles in the collection.
That guy has quite the collection Newport. I know I have seen his site before.

I know who you are talking about, and I have found him unfriendly in the past. My favorite bartender there is the guy with longish curly hair. My wife and I generally order 3 or 4 beers at a time. That way we are set for a while and don't need to worry about service. Service seems bad by our standards, but when you don't work for tips then its easy not to care.
I'm glad you had a good time, despite not liking In de Wildeman. Hearing about your trip makes me wish I could spend more time there. We are considering moving there so my wife can be closer to her family.
I guess it's time to learn Dutch.

I appreciate your feedback, the beer is simply awesome, but lets talk value,,,at 18$ a six pack, of Rocherfort #10 bought from Bier Koning, is that really worth it, Hell Yes! Its just really an order of magnitude greater, that I had ever experienced, in fine beers, and I really found that enjoyable and new and FUN! If I had a wife to take me there, i would already be there! Any excuse!
