Interesting. Something to look forward to. I'm sure the market will do it's work, just hope no one I like is affected. Victory may do well, the rest....... Lagunitas has tried here in L.A., their distributor has lost many a fan.

What did Lagunitas do to turn people off? Their beer is getting here these days, and what I've had I've enjoyed.

We get it here too. I've tried several and liked them as well.

the article says,
Lagunitas beers are solid and well-crafted – but not unique.
i must agree, i like the maximus, but out here, i'll take an alesmith ipa, alpine pure hoppieness, hopjuice or pliney the elder/younger first.
now the brown shuga seems to be the exception, however last years batch was better then this years i think.......

The distributor that Lagunitas has is terrible. Establishments and stores have asked for certain styles and they say yes but never deliver. They pump their IPA but there's a heck of a lot of competition on that one. Their Pils is o.k. They ran out of the Brown Shugga ( which was supposed to be a one time mistake but they tried it again anyway - I agree with Hop that the original was better ). They also have a ton of the Hairy Eyeball and that's a big ...... blah. 9.9% of mediocrity. Don't get me wrong, they are a decent brewery but they have a lot of competition and they don't supply the people they should to get it out there.
