Naturally I disagree with some of his beer ratings but it is a fairly informative and accurate read.
So, when are you gonna touch down here in Regensburg ?

Get carving :D
Will you even seriously make it down here ? You'll be needing at least a full weekend (Fr, Sa & Su) to cover just the basics

I'm new to the board but I'd like to chime in and say Regensburg is a great city for beer lovers.
I have friends who live there and last year I made the trip to them for a weekend and we've been visiting some beergardens and breweries. The Kneitinger was the most memorable and their Dunkel is just fantastic. Right outside of Regensburg on a hill is Proesslbrau Adlersberg with an excellent beergarden and lovely atmosphere. We've also been to Katharinen Spital but I missed the Bischofshof.
So it happens that I will be driving to Regensburg again this Saturday (Sept. 3rd) and this time for a longer stay (a week). We will be with 6 beer enthousiasts (and metalheads :D ) driving out every day to discover the breweries and beergardens in the surrounding area.
Nothing matches the beer, culture and nature of Bavaria!

Name a few bands. I'm a fellow beer drinker and metalhead. In fact, Tankard used to be one of my favorite beer metal bands. Kind of hard to believe they are still around some twenty years later. If you want to see what kind of Euro bands we get here in Washington DC visit: www.jaxxroxx.com

@Derekt2 :
I have a very broad taste in metal, but some of my all time fave bands are CARCASS, IRON MAIDEN, MOTORHEAD, SLAYER, KING DIAMON/MERCYFUL FATE, SABBAT (Japan), MEGADETH, WITCHFYNDE, WITCHFINDER GENERAL, COUNTESS, ILDJARN, SUMMONING, IMPETIGO, BOLT THROWER, EMPEROR, DIAMOND HEAD, DESTRUCTION, DEICIDE, SODOM.... the list goes on and on actually but this gives you a general idea.

I remember Deceased. Assuming we are talking about the same band, I loosely knew some of the guys in the band before the original singer was hit and killed by a car on the interstate. We also used to have a mindblowingly heavy band called Silence (aptly named for a very loud band) but they went Progressive and I have no idea where they wound up.
BTW, I will add to your list some old school faves: Metal Church, Possessed, Voi Vod, Bathory and an old hard-to-find fave Whiplash.
Lately I've been into bands like Dimmu and Old Man's Child and now a band from Florida called Kult ov Azazel. Pretty much black grindore but interesting.
So many bands, so little time.
